About Caroline

Caroline DeBruin is a Senior Associate working in the firm's Employment and Labour group, where she counsels employers on terminations, drafts contracts and incentive compensation plans, and prepares workplace policies and severance packages. She also advises on and conducts workplace investigations. Her litigation work includes defending employers in wrongful dismissal and breach of contract claims and appearing before labour boards, arbitration panels, courts and human rights tribunals. She handles a significant caseload before the Ontario Labour Relations Board in construction and industrial sectors, covering certification and decertification applications as well as unfair labour practice complaints. She holds a J.D. from Queen's University and a B.A. in English from Cornell University, where she played three seasons of NCAA Division I ice hockey before playing varsity hockey at Queen's.
