About Brian
Brian Kolenda is a partner at Lenczner Slaght whose commercial litigation practice covers complex business disputes, class actions, civil fraud, defamation, and professional liability claims, with particular depth in matters involving fraud and complex financial instruments. His clients have included an international sporting regulator, a major Canadian bank, a well-known baked goods manufacturer, an Ontario university, and a Toronto fintech startup. He serves as lead counsel in trials, appeals, arbitrations, and administrative tribunal hearings, and has appeared at every level of court in Ontario and British Columbia, in the Federal Court, and at the Supreme Court of Canada. Brian was Editor-in-Chief of the Queen's Law Journal and competed on Queen's Jessup International Law moot team as a student; he now coaches the school's Ontario Trial Lawyers' Association moot team. He earned his JD from Queen's University in 2010 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2011.
