About Brett

Brett Roane is a Founding Partner at R&D LLP, where he leads the firm's Business Law Group. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on corporate finance and private mergers and acquisitions, across industries including technology, manufacturing, food and beverage, health and wellness, medical devices, automotive, and real estate. He advises boards and senior management on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and shareholder matters, and counsels clients on equity and debt offerings and tax-driven reorganizations. Before co-founding R&D LLP, he was a partner at its predecessor firm, having earlier articled at a mid-sized full-service Toronto firm. He received his Juris Doctor from Queen's University, where he served as co-president of the Corporate Law Club, and his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Dalhousie University. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
