About Andrea
Andrea Arbuthnot is developing a broad practice within McMillan's Tax Group, having recently completed her articling at the firm after previously working there as a summer student. During law school she competed actively, earning recognition as Top Oral Advocate at the Lincoln Alexander Cup Negotiation Competition. She also won the Spirit of Negotiation Award, presented at the Canadian National Negotiation Competition, while serving as a research assistant for the school's Judge in Residence and volunteering with the Indigenous Youth-Centered Justice Project. Before law school, Andrea worked for the Ontario Public Service on a team that won the Amethyst Award for Outstanding Achievement, and she helped launch the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence as its first Director of Communications and Engagement. She earned her J.D. at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2025.
