About David
David Laurie is an associate in the firm's Technology and Intellectual Property group. His work covers patent, trademark and copyright matters, spanning everything from helping clients secure IP rights to enforcing them through litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He also counsels clients on data security, technology and privacy issues, and practices in both English and French. Before joining Loopstra Nixon, he completed a summer term and articles at a large Ottawa firm focused on intellectual property and litigation. While studying at Western Law, he took the Capstone in Litigation course and volunteered as a caseworker with Community Legal Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph, earned in 2018, and a J.D. from Western University, obtained in 2021. He is called to the bar in Ontario.
