About Amy

Amy MacGregor, KC is a partner in Cox & Palmer's Halifax office, practising litigation, insurance defence and professional regulation law. She earned her law degree at the University of New Brunswick after a political science degree at St. Francis Xavier University, and received her King's Counsel designation in 2026. Amy has extensive experience in automobile and accident benefits claims, professional liability and discipline matters, occupiers' liability, product liability and property damage claims, and has appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia as well as numerous administrative boards and tribunals. She is a frequent lecturer on civil litigation and insurance defence and contributes case law updates for the insurance industry, and is the former chair of the National Insurance Law Sub-Section of the Canadian Bar Association. Within the firm, Amy currently chairs the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee for the Halifax office.
