About Jon

Jon Silver is a senior associate at Torys in Toronto. His practice is centered on litigation and dispute resolution, with particular emphasis on commercial disputes as well as public and regulatory law matters. He has represented both public and private sector clients in administrative hearings, judicial reviews, and constitutional law cases. Jon also acts for clients in proceedings brought under access to information legislation. He has appeared as counsel before every level of Ontario court, in the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, and before the Supreme Court of Canada. Jon holds a leadership role within The Advocates' Society, serving on its Regulatory and Administrative Law Practice Group, and he has also served for years as a director with The Osgoode Society for Canadian Legal History.
