Amanda Willox

About Amanda

Amanda Willox is a criminal defence lawyer who has represented clients at all levels of court in British Columbia. She has defended people facing violent charges including murder as co-counsel, attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, and sexual and domestic assaults, as well as non-violent offences such as drug trafficking, fraud, and weapons possession. Willox has experience with Charter and constitutional challenges, represents clients in civil forfeiture proceedings, and practices prison law, travelling to lower mainland prisons for parole and disciplinary hearings. She also handles regulatory offences under statutes such as the Motor Vehicle Act and Fisheries Act. Willox earned a Bachelor of Design from Ryerson University and an Honours B.A. in Psychology from York University before receiving her J.D. from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. She articled with Pender Litigation in Vancouver and was called to the bar in 2019, practicing there until joining Platform Litigation in 2024.
