Administrative & Regulatory LawAlicja Puchta is a senior associate at Torys whose practice spans civil litigation matters, with particular attention to intellectual property disputes involving patents, copyrights and trademarks, alongside class actions, torts, product liability, and public and administrative law. She holds a PhD in Immunology, an MSc in Medical Sciences, and a BSc in Biology, which inform her analytical approach to files. Her work is multijurisdictional and covers motions, applications, trials, and appeals, and she has appeared before courts including the Ontario Superior Court, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, and courts in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. She belongs to The Advocates' Society, where she leads the practice group covering Personal Injury and Insurance Law, and to the Ontario Bar Association, where she sits on the executive for both the Civil Litigation section and the Intellectual Property and Technology Law section. From 2017 to 2018 she clerked for Justices Laskin, Feldman and Pepall at the Court of Appeal for Ontario. In law school she was a senior editor of the Osgoode Hall Law Journal and later coached Osgoode's moot team for five years.
