Alessia Petricone-Westwood is a partner practising environmental law and environmental litigation, with extensive experience in civil litigation generally. She handles disputes over contaminated land, defends clients in environmental regulatory prosecutions, argues administrative appeals and hearings, advises on environmental insurance issues, and pursues professional negligence claims within the environmental space. She regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, and various administrative tribunals, tailoring her strategy to whether the client is a large corporation, small business, or individual. Alessia was called to the Ontario bar in 2015 after earning her JD from the University of Ottawa, with Dean's Honour List distinction, in 2014, a Master's in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University in 2011, and a BA in Political Science and International Development Studies from McGill University in 2008. She sits on the executive team of the Ontario Bar Association's environmental law section and serves as a guest lecturer on environmental law at Osgoode Hall Law School.
