About Candice

Candice Gomes is an associate at Willms & Shier whose practice is focused on environmental law. She handles environmental litigation, defends environmental prosecutions and appeals orders to the Ontario Land Tribunal, while also advising clients on environmental due diligence in transactions and regulatory compliance. Before entering private practice, she worked in ESG for a Canadian bank. Candice acts for individuals, communities, municipalities and corporations, and she has appeared before the Ontario Land Tribunal and the Superior Court of Justice's Divisional Court. She earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Ottawa in 2024 and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies with honours from the University of Waterloo in 2019, and she was called to the Ontario bar in 2025.
