About Alan

Alan Meka is an associate lawyer at McCague Borlack focused on insurance and commercial litigation. He has taken part in extensive trial preparation, argued matters before the Superior Court of Justice, and carried enforcement proceedings through to completion, and he mediates small claims and landlord-tenant disputes under a general civil mediator licence he holds in the State of Michigan. Before joining the firm, Alan worked as an insurance claims adjuster assessing liability for property loss and damage. During law school he took on leadership roles, volunteered to help vulnerable youth obtain identification documents, and prepared immigration relief packages as a legal intern, and he received a book award for the highest grade in Cross-Border Sales and Financial Transactions as well as in Canadian and U.S. Professional Responsibility. He holds a dual J.D. from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy, earned in 2023, and a B.A. (Hons) from York University in 2018. He was called to the bar in 2024.
