About Aaron

Aaron Van Tassel is an associate at LaBarge Weinstein LLP who joined the firm's Technology & Intellectual Property group in 2024. He advises clients on commercial technology contracts, privacy and data protection issues, and intellectual property matters. Before joining LaBarge Weinstein, Aaron served as in-house counsel for a venture-backed legal tech startup and a publicly traded Canadian software company, giving him firsthand insight into how technology companies operate and what fast-growing businesses need from their legal advisors. He completed his articles at an Ottawa business law firm and holds an MA from Western University and a JD from the University of Ottawa. Aaron was called to the Ontario bar in 2019 and is based in the firm's Ottawa office.
