By its own account, the firm was founded more than seventy years ago as Canada's first law firm devoted entirely to workplace law. One of its co-founders, Beatrice Mathews (Lyons), was among the first women in Canada to become a partner in a law practice. The firm now has more than 90 professionals working across the country on labour relations, employment law, occupational health and safety, human rights, workers' compensation and business immigration, all for employer clients.
