Virtual appointmentsSiskinds LLP is a full service law firm that traces back to 1932, when Abe Siskind started practicing law from an office on King Street in London, Ontario, across from the Covent Garden Market. The firm took on new partners and new names over the following decades, becoming Siskind, Taggart and Cromarty in the 1960s and then Siskind Cromarty after Harold Taggart retired. In 1990 it merged with Ivey and Dowler and became Siskind, Cromarty, Ivey and Dowler, and it now operates as Siskinds LLP.
Siskinds is headquartered in London, Ontario, with offices in Toronto, Sarnia, and Vancouver, plus a Quebec City affiliate, Siskinds Desmeules. It has grown into a team of more than 240 lawyers and staff working across more than 25 practice areas, covering business law, family law, wills and estates, personal injury, and employment and labour law, alongside a substantial plaintiff-side class actions practice. When Ontario became the first province outside Quebec to permit class action lawsuits in 1992, Siskinds filed the province's first certified class action. Chambers and Partners later ranked the firm's class actions group as Canada's top plaintiff-side class action firm in seven of the eight years between 2010 and 2018.
