About William

William (Will) Roantree is a real estate and business lawyer whose corporate practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions, acting as a trusted advisor on asset and share transactions for small and medium-sized businesses in construction, technology, manufacturing, and consumer services. He also advises on incorporations, business structures, corporate reorganizations, shareholder and partnership agreements, joint venture agreements, and commercial contracts. Before law school, Will worked as a commercial real estate broker for a large developer and landlord, experience that informs his work negotiating leases for tenants and landlords and advising on commercial real estate investments; he also advises home buyers and sellers. He has coached with the Capital City Condors, a special hockey team, for many years, serves on the Board of the Royal Ottawa Young Professionals Network, and co-founded the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law's annual Ottawa Law Classic charity hockey game. He was called to the bar in 2020, earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2019 and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa in 2012.
