About William

William McClary is an associate at Carbert Waite LLP, joining in 2026 after nearly a decade practising in house and at regional and global law firms in Calgary. His general litigation practice focuses on employment and administrative law, along with contractual, shareholder and construction disputes. He obtained his JD from the University of Victoria in 2018, where he received the F. Murray Fraser Award, and before law school held a professional engineering designation and worked as a consulting engineer across western Canada. He has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, the Alberta Human Rights Commission Tribunal, and the Alberta Energy Regulator, and speaks conversational French.
