About Vern
Vern DaRe practises exclusively in bankruptcy and insolvency law and creditor-debtor rights, advising and appearing in court for receivers, trustees, monitors, secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, and debtors in reorganization, receivership, and enforcement proceedings. He speaks frequently at insolvency conferences and co-authored Bankruptcy in Canada with John Honsberger, along with Debt Restructuring: Principles and Practice. He taught Corporate Reorganization and Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law as an adjunct professor at Western for six years and instructed in the Ontario Bar Admission course's insolvency section. Before joining Fogler, Rubinoff, he practised at firms and insolvency boutiques in Halifax and Toronto, and earlier served as legal counsel with the Manitoba Law Reform Commission. He was admitted to the Ontario bar in 1991 and the Nova Scotia bar in 1996, holding degrees from Oxford, the London School of Economics, and the University of Toronto.
