About Vern

Vern Krishna is a longtime authority on Canadian tax law who has taught at the University of Ottawa's common law faculty since 1981. He represents clients in tax litigation and dispute resolution before courts at every level and advises corporate and individual clients on income tax and wealth management matters, including negotiations with the Canada Revenue Agency. He has written 17 books covering tax, international taxation, and business law, and his scholarship has been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada and other top courts. He is a member of the Order of Canada, a King's Counsel appointee, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Krishna served as a Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario starting in 1991 and was Treasurer from 2001 to 2003. He holds degrees from the University of Cambridge, Harvard University, and the University of Alberta.
