About Vera Dokter

Vera Dokter, a partner at Cohen Highley LLP, works on property deals of many kinds: residential and commercial purchases and sales, transactions for builders, and multi-family buildings, along with the financing behind them. Corporate and estate advice round out that real estate work.

Vera earned a JD at Western in 2012 and was called to the bar the following year. Before Cohen Highley, Vera practised in London as an associate in the corporate, commercial and real estate group at Brown Beattie O'Donovan, writing for that firm's blog on mortgages, how to hold title to a home and buying investment property. After building a London practice, Vera joined Cohen Highley in 2024 to keep growing it.

Clients can work with Vera in Portuguese or English. Vera was born in Portugal, grew up in Strathroy and today sits on the board of the Strathroy and District Chamber of Commerce. Back in law school, Vera won election to the Student Legal Society and volunteered with the Community Legal Services Clinic.
