About Vanessa

Vanessa Mensink is an associate in the Civil Sexual Abuse/Assault group at Rochon Genova, where she helps survivors work through the civil court process with a trauma-informed, compassionate approach. Before joining the firm, she handled a range of litigation matters including institutional abuse, human rights, insolvencies, commercial disputes and class actions tied to harassment and discrimination. She has appeared before administrative tribunals, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She earned her JD from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC in 2017, was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2018, and was called in Ontario in 2022. Before law school, she spent nearly six years as a victim support worker helping survivors of sexual violence through the criminal court process, work that inspired her to pursue law.
