About Joel

Joel Rochon is a founding partner who heads the firm's class action group, with a practice spanning products liability, aviation and rail accidents, defective drugs and medical devices, securities, anti-trust, consumer protection, and institutional abuse. Since establishing the firm in 1999, he has led or co-led many of Canada's most significant class actions on behalf of people harmed by corporations or governments. He earned a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario and McGill University in 1983 and an LL.B. from the Universite de Moncton in 1986, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1988. He has co-authored two books, including one on the emotional consequences of personal injury, and writes and speaks regularly at class action conferences in Canada, the United States, and France. He practises in both English and French.
