About Vanessa

Vanessa is a criminal defence associate at Friedman Mansour LLP. After graduating from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 2018, she completed her articles with Edelson & Friedman LLP, assisting on cases involving murder, manslaughter, sexual offences, impaired driving, drug offences, and youth criminal justice matters. While in law school, she worked in the criminal division of the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic representing clients on summary conviction charges, and interned with Senator Kim Pate's office on the Senate Standing Committee for Human Rights' inquiry into federal prisons. She holds a master's degree in biochemistry, which she draws on to analyze evidence critically. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, the Criminal Lawyers' Association, and the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa.
