About Bree
Bree is a criminal defence associate at Friedman Mansour LLP. She earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Ottawa in 2023, consistently placing on the Dean's Honour List while focusing her studies on criminal law. During law school she spent two years as a caseworker with the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic, representing clients before criminal and provincial offences courts, and represented the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law at the 2022 Arnup Cup Trial Advocacy Moot in Toronto. She also served as a Dean's Research and Writing Fellow, examining the constitutionality of section 33.1 of the Criminal Code, and spent three months in Kampala, Uganda assisting a United Nations expert on democracy with a report to the Human Rights Council and researching extra-judicial killings. Before law school, she worked for several years as a paralegal with criminal defence lawyers in the Pembroke and Ottawa Valley region. She completed her articles in 2023 with an Ottawa criminal defence firm and continued as an associate there following her call to the Ontario bar in June 2024, before joining Friedman Mansour LLP. Her practice covers a wide range of criminal and regulatory charges, including assault, sexual assault, drug trafficking, and impaired and dangerous driving.
