About Timothy

Timothy Matthews advises individuals, executors, trustees, beneficiaries, foundations and charities on tax and estate planning and probate procedures. He was appointed King's Counsel in 1998 and holds the TEP designation from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, having chaired its Atlantic chapter. Matthews is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the International Academy of Estates and Trusts Lawyers, and he formerly lectured in Equity and Trusts at Dalhousie Law School. He earned his J.D. and B.Sc. from Dalhousie University in 1976 and 1973, and a B.C.L. from Oxford University in 1978.
