Tim worked in specific claims research, negotiations, and economic development before attending law school, including as Program Manager of the Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council's Treaty and Aboriginal Rights Research Program. Since 2003 Tim has worked exclusively with Indigenous communities and tribal councils across western Canada and the North, advising on Treaty rights, governance, natural resource management, and revenue sharing, including negotiating impact benefit agreements that secured over 200 million dollars in community investment funds for a single client. Tim was named a Leading Practitioner in Aboriginal Law by the Canadian Lexpert Directory in 2023 and recognized by Best Lawyers as a top lawyer in Natural Resources Law in 2025.
