Family Law Mediator & Collaborative Lawyer at Menzies Family Law
Kirstin Menzies has practised family law since being called to the bar of British Columbia in August 2007, and has focused on out-of-court processes since 2013 because she believes they lead to healthier outcomes for families, particularly children. She has appeared in both the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia in separation and divorce matters, but moved toward mediation and Collaborative Practice after observing that litigation often produced disappointing results and deepened conflict. She has been a qualified Family Law Mediator and Collaborative Law Professional since 2013, and was admitted to the BC Collaborative Roster Society in 2015. After working in Vancouver for a decade following law school, Kirstin returned to Vancouver Island in 2017 and established Menzies Family Law in Victoria, where she handles parenting arrangements, division of family property and debts, and support issues.
