About Kajia

Kajia joined the firm as an associate in October 2018 and practises both solicitor and litigation work in Indigenous governance, Crown consultation, negotiations with industry, Aboriginal title and rights litigation, and land stewardship. Before joining, she clerked at the Federal Court of Appeal for Justice Eleanor Dawson, working on the Tsleil-Waututh Nation v. Attorney General case concerning the Trans Mountain pipeline. She grew up in Winnipeg and attended law school at the University of Manitoba, where she completed internships with the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and clerked for the Manitoba Court of Appeal. She is a member of the Executive of the Vancouver Island Aboriginal Law subsection of the Canadian Bar Association and received the Yude M. Henteleff Award in Human Rights and Civil Liberties in 2017.
