About Thomas

Fraize was admitted to the Bar of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1982 after earning a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Memorial University in 1977 and an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 1982. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2006. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association, and a past chair of the Real Estate Committee of the NL Bar. He served on the Legal Appointments Board from 2008 to 2016 and on the Trust Rules Committee of the NL Law Society. He has acted as Crown Counsel and federal standing agent and continues to act as defence counsel in criminal proceedings, and his practice also covers real estate, civil litigation, family law, corporate matters, and estate planning. He has represented clients before many administrative tribunals, including Workers' Compensation and Revenue Canada Appeals, and formerly lectured at the College of the North Atlantic.
