About Theo

Theo Stathakos is a litigator whose practice centers on tax disputes. He has more than a decade of experience with audits, objections, and litigation covering issues such as capital versus income disputes, tax collection matters, and the general anti-avoidance rule. Theo has appeared before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and courts in Alberta and British Columbia. Before his call to the bar, he completed a judicial clerkship at the Alberta Court of Appeal. He earned his J.D. with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2013 and previously worked for several years as an appeals officer and auditor at the Canada Revenue Agency, also obtaining the Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Theo belongs to the Law Society of British Columbia, the Law Society of Alberta, and several tax and accounting professional bodies.
