About Tamara

Tamara Maurer began at Smockum Zarnett LLP in June 2011, right after her call to the bar, having articled there beforehand. Her practice centers on insurance defence work such as motor vehicle accident claims, occupier's liability matters, and cases involving municipal liability. She also has a background handling matters for Children's Aid Societies and defending medical malpractice claims. She currently serves as an articling principal at the firm. Tamara holds a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Environmental Studies, both with honours, from the University of Waterloo. She belongs to the Advocates' Society, the Canadian Bar Association, the Toronto Lawyers Association, and Canadian Defence Lawyers.
