About Bill

Bill Herman is Of Counsel with broad experience across intellectual property law, gained through several years in both in-house and private practice settings. His work covers the prosecution of patents, trademarks and industrial designs, along with infringement and validity assessments and patentability and trademark registration reviews. He has provided ongoing representation for a global eyewear manufacturer in trademark opposition proceedings and can assist with licensing, opposition and expungement matters. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in federal court copyright and trademark infringement cases. He holds an LLB, a BCL and an MSc, all from McGill University, and previously worked at firms including Bereskin & Parr and at Merck Generics and Viventia Biotech.
