T. Ryan Lax is counsel at Torys practicing civil litigation, with a focus on public, commercial, and international investment issues connected to major energy, infrastructure, and resource projects, along with related Indigenous rights considerations. He advises governmental bodies, Crown corporations, and project proponents on relationships with Indigenous communities and duty-to-consult matters, and has litigated related disputes in high-profile or sensitive circumstances. Ryan also counsels businesses on international trade and investment matters and represents claimants in arbitrations arising under various bilateral and multilateral treaties.
