About Sydney

Sydney Black is a lawyer at Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP practicing commercial and general litigation, with a focus on construction, energy, and estate litigation, as well as occupational health and safety matters. Sydney was counsel for the plaintiff class in a landmark workplace sexual misconduct settlement with the City of Leduc, which included the highest per-person compensation reported in a Canadian class action settlement for workplace misconduct and was the first such settlement involving a fire department or municipality in Canada.
