About Susan
Fisher earned a BA in sociology and criminology in 1986 and an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in 1989, receiving an award in ethics. She articled in Toronto for two years before returning to Newfoundland and Labrador to article in St. John's, then opened her own firm, Susan L. Fisher Law Office, in Paradise in 1993. She formed Avalon Law Group with Johnathan Earle on January 1, 2022. For more than 30 years Fisher has practiced mainly in family law, real estate, and wills and estates, and she has appeared before all levels of court in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the Human Rights Commission. She has served on the boards of Choices for Youth and the Mount Pearl/Paradise Chamber of Commerce and is a long-standing member of the Public Legal Information Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.
