Lydia Bugden is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Stewart McKelvey, a role she has held since 2015. She joined the firm in 1999 after seven years as in-house counsel and has been recognized over the years as a leading corporate-commercial practitioner. Bugden serves on the boards of NetZero Atlantic and Ovarian Cancer Canada, where she is Vice Chair, and sits on the UNB Law Dean's Advisory Council. She holds an LLB from the University of New Brunswick, earned in 1991, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, earned in 1988. She was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 1992 and the Ontario bar in 1994, and was appointed King's Counsel in 2020.
