About Stuart
Stuart Koop is a family law and estate litigation lawyer at YLaw's Vancouver office. He articled at a small full-service firm in Surrey, BC, was hired as an associate working alongside two other family lawyers, and later ran a solo practice handling multi-week family and estate trials at the Provincial and Supreme Court levels. His trial work has included securing access rights for a father falsely accused of abuse and a wills variation award for a common-law spouse contesting her late partner's estate. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia (2003) and an LLB from the University of Manitoba (2007). Outside law he has self-published two novels and developed an English curriculum for a shipping company's employees in Bangkok.
