About Cathleen

Cathleen McClughan is a family lawyer and mediator at YLaw's Langley office who has practiced law for over 30 years, with the last 26 years focused on family law and civil litigation. She was counsel on a Court of Appeal case that became a leading Canadian decision on a parent's right to relocate with a child, and has since had further Court of Appeal success on parenting time and protection order matters. She holds an LL.B./Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia (1993) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Cameron University in Oklahoma (1990), and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 1994. She is accredited by the Law Society of British Columbia as a Family Law Mediator (2013) and belongs to the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.
