Born and raised in Port Alberni, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Malaspina University-College (now Vancouver Island University) in 2007 and his law degree from the University of Victoria in 2011. He joined Johnston Franklin Bishop as an articling student and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2012, remaining as an associate since.
