About Steven

Steven is a partner at Genest Murray LLP who has practised there since his 2008 call to the bar. His practice covers catastrophic personal injury, construction defect, motor vehicle accident, occupiers' liability, product liability and property damage claims. A significant part of his work involves school board liability, including cases of bullying, discrimination, defamation and sexual abuse, along with solicitor negligence and claims against the provincial Crown. Steven volunteered as a community legal clinic caseworker in law school and spent over fifteen years with Pro Bono Ontario giving summary advice and acting as duty counsel; he now provides pro bono human rights advice to the 2SLGBTQ+ community through the 519 Community Centre Legal Clinic. He holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto and an LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario, and co-chairs an annual conference for defence and insurance industry groups.
