About Hilary

Hilary Book is a commercial litigator known for sound judgment and creativity, with a trial and appellate practice covering contractual disputes, partnership and shareholder conflicts, commercial real estate litigation, plaintiff-side professional negligence, and creditor representation in insolvency matters; she has also handled fraud, conspiracy, contempt of court, and cross-border issues as lead counsel in Ontario courts at all levels. Before joining AGM, she was a partner at two major Bay Street firms and started her own commercial litigation practice, and many of her clients come to her through referrals from other lawyers who trust her with complex financial disputes. She currently holds the role of President at The Advocates' Society and is recognized as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Benchmark Canada has named her one of its 'Top 100 Women in Litigation' and a 'Litigation Star,' and the Lexpert/American Lawyer guide lists her as being 'Most Frequently Recommended' for work in Corporate Commercial Litigation.
