About Stacey

Stacey Purser is a criminal defence lawyer in Edmonton who practices exclusively in criminal law, drug offences, and extradition matters across Alberta and the Northwest Territories. She began her career with a background in psychology, earning a B.A. from Concordia University of Edmonton and working at Alberta Hospital on research into psychosis and mental health service use before attending law school. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2015 and was called to the Alberta bar in 2016, later adding admission in the Northwest Territories in 2025. She completed an LLM in Criminal Law and Procedure at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2022 and has published in the Manitoba and Queen's Law Journals. Her practice has included murder trials, firearms trafficking, sexual assault and drug trafficking cases, as well as extradition and post-conviction matters, and she teaches International Criminal Law at the University of Alberta.
