About Cateline

Cateline Joly is an associate lawyer at Purser Law, which she joined in June 2022 as an articling student before becoming the firm's first associate lawyer in July 2023. She graduated from the University of Alberta with an honours B.A. and its law school, and was a member of the university's fourth-place team at the 2022 Gale Cup moot. Her experience includes a summer position with Peter Sankoff at Bottos Law Group, prosecution work with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service, and volunteer litigation management with Student Legal Services. She practices Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and regulatory matters, and wrote the Charter notice and final argument in a case that resulted in an acquittal on a first-degree murder charge.
