About Sonya
Sonya M. Katrycz is a partner at Zarek Taylor Grossman Hanrahan LLP who has defended insurers in hundreds of actions involving bodily injury, accident benefits, professional liability, and product liability since her call to the Ontario bar in 2013. She has a particular interest in commercial general liability coverage disputes and serves as a preferred legal vendor for the Ontario Camps Association, advising camp owners and directors on risk management, staff conduct policies, and liability issues. Sonya earned a double-honours degree from the University of King's College in Halifax before attending Osgoode Hall Law School, where she worked in the business law clinic and spent a semester at Trinity College Dublin studying international dispute resolution. She joined the ZTGH partnership in 2024 and co-chairs the firm's Examination Under Oath practice group, while also sitting on the Licence Appeal Tribunal and Workplace Safety Insurance practice groups. She serves on the EDI subcommittee of the Canadian Defence Lawyers and volunteers as a board member of the Canada-Mathare Education Trust.
