About Sonia

Sonia Nijjar is a partner focused on medical malpractice litigation who also serves as the firm's Director of Business Development and Knowledge Management, overseeing its approach to knowledge systems and growth strategy. She sits as a Board Member at Reconnect Community Health Services and as a lawyer-member of a community hospital's Research and Ethics Board, and previously chaired the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association's Medical Malpractice section for two years. Sonia frequently publishes on medical-legal issues and on equality, diversity, and inclusion in the law, and is regularly invited to speak by the OTLA, the Law Society of Ontario, and the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto's Mississauga Academy. She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2014, was called to the Ontario bar in 2015 and the Alberta bar in 2018, and was named a Best Lawyers 'One to Watch' in 2021 and 2022.
