About Reem

Reem Zaia is a lawyer practising in the Advocacy Department of the firm's Ottawa office, with litigation experience in professional liability, constitutional, national security, criminal and white collar crime, and administrative law matters. She advises on privacy and government relations files and has defended accused persons in the administrative, regulatory, and criminal justice systems. She has served as counsel at all levels of court in Ontario and matters before the Supreme Court of Canada. From 2022-2023, she served as Director of Policy and Legal Affairs for Canada's Public Safety Minister. In 2023, she was awarded the County of Carleton Law Association's Regional Senior Justice Award. She is a part-time Professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, teaching criminal, national security and constitutional law.
