About Sonia

Sonia Montes Figueroa is an associate at Warren Sinclair LLP practising civil litigation and immigration law. She earned her civil law degree, Cum Laude, from the Universidad Catolica de Honduras in 2017 and practised law in Honduras for three years before moving to Canada in 2019. After relocating to Alberta in 2024, she articled with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service in Red Deer and was called to the Alberta Bar in August 2025. Before articling, she completed postgraduate paralegal studies in Ontario, became a licensed paralegal in 2021, and worked as a legal intern in Toronto and a legal assistant with a Vancouver litigation firm. In 2021 she founded a non-profit organization providing immigration services to international students, families, and businesses. Sonia is the co-founder of the Central Alberta Latin American Inclusive Association and serves on the board of the Red Deer Arts Council.
