About Seema
Seema Kawar supervises the Housing Law division at Downtown Legal Services. Earlier in her career she worked on women's rights issues in Jordan and with the Human Rights Council at the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, before moving into refugee and immigration work and then housing law through Ontario's community legal clinic system and the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights. She holds an LL.B. from the University of Bristol and an LL.M. in International Development Law and Human Rights from the University of Warwick.
