About Sean
Sean Bawden is a litigator and employment lawyer who advises both businesses and individuals. Before rejoining Kelly Santini in 2021, he served as Director of Litigation & Employment for a publicly listed corporation, providing proactive advice and appearing before courts internationally. In private practice, he handles wrongful dismissal claims, workplace harassment claims and investigations, and human rights matters, and has advised on the employment implications of mergers and acquisitions. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, and the Court of Appeal for Ontario, as well as administrative boards including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. He has also litigated in several U.S. federal courts, the British Columbia Supreme Court, the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, and the Superior Court of Quebec. Sean publishes the law blog Labour Pains, which was inducted into the Canadian Law Blog Hall of Fame in 2019. He earned his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa and his B.A. from Glendon College, York University.
