About Sara

Sara Nicholson is an associate in Stewart McKelvey's Halifax office, called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2016. Her practice covers estate and trust litigation, representing beneficiaries, executors and trustees in will challenges, executor disputes and power of attorney disagreements, along with environmental and administrative tribunal work before the Nova Scotia Energy Board and the Nova Scotia Aquaculture Review Board. She has appeared before the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, Probate Court and Court of Appeal, and has acted in reported decisions including Backman v Attis and Curry v Curry. Nicholson also advises renewable energy and aquaculture developers on land use and First Nations consultation matters. She earned her JD from the University of New Brunswick in 2015 and a B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Toronto in 2005.
